馬籠伸郎 Nobuo Magome

1976年東京生まれ。

古来からの妖怪画は人々への戒めに怖いものとして描かれて来たが、私の描く妖怪画は良い行いや人を幸せにする妖怪達を描いている。
作品の中の妖怪は擬人化したものであり、我々自身である。
日常にある不安を露呈し、今生きている世界を風刺しながらネガティヴなものをポジティヴなものに変える表現を志している。

Born in Tokyo in 1976.<br>Since ancient times, yokai paintings have been drawn as scary things to warn people, but my yokai paintings depict yokai that do good deeds and make people happy.<br>The yokai in my works are anthropomorphic, and they are us.<br>My aim is to expose the anxieties of everyday life, and to change the negative into the positive by satirizing the world we live in today.
