竹之内直記 NAOKI TAKENOUCHI

Takenouchi Naoki

Born in Kagoshima in 1946. Based on the artist's own woodblock print, Japanese paper is pasted together to make it huge, and the expression can be changed freely according to the space.
As an installation, he collaborated with a fashion designer in New York, and in Tokyo and Paris, he made people wear his works and appeared on the streets. He is a charming writer.

1989 Solo exhibition of large-scale woodblock prints at Oya Museum, a huge underground space in the former Oya stone quarry in Tochigi Prefecture.
1991, 93 Received the Agency for Cultural Affairs' Japan Arts and Culture Promotion Fund, and carried out an installation "Message from the Headwaters 1st, 2nd" with a total length of 7km rope hanging at the headwaters of the Yamano River in Kagoshima Prefecture.
